A baby that never cried. A mother that never sang a lullaby. No congratulations. Three had become one in a blink of an eye. There was no way they could save her though she begged for the baby to be spared and but not her. But they both slipped away peacefully like dusk into dawn.
Kanda was inconsolable but no one dared to go near him as he stormed from the Order’s infirmary blood covering his clothes. His steps became laced with such purpose as his pace quickened as he soon was in a full on run. He ran out of the gates and never looked back and he ran until he was stopped in his tracks. There was nowhere left to go but the cliff. That was when his stone resolve gave out and he fell backwards onto the ground. He laid there for hours staring up into the sky. Shock covering him so much so that he was numb.
She was gone! They both were gone! How could he loose her again after all these years?
The sound of people yelling his name soon brought him out of his haze. Sitting up slowly he wiped his face with his sleeve and just stared into nothingness. He refused to answer them. Kanda didn’t give a shit about anything anymore he had just lost the most precious thing to him again! How was that possible? The samurai sat and nearly bit off his own tongue each time he thought of uttering her name. It was a wonder that that fat bastard the Millennium Earl hadn’t appeared to take advantage of such an opportunity. If he had Kanda would probably die that day for good because he would have forced that trickster to kill him. Surprisingly the man never showed.
The young woman’s soft scent lingered on him even now mixed with the distinct scent of blood. Why was this a never ending cycle with them. Why? Why was Kanda meant to be in so much pain, pain that if he ever decided to fully express it-it would either crush him into a lifeless shell or dissolve him into madness.
“Why did you fucking leave me!?” the voice in his head screamed.
There was no answer only silence.
